My reflections on Values and Conflict Activities

I take the activities about “Values and Conflict” in the cp373 Lectures which is the Monday and Friday during the January 10th to 13th. We learned the many types of conflicts. How to identify them and how to solve the problems. We did the four activities. “Peer Introduction”, “Values Exercise”, “Conflict Types and Intensity Levels Exercise”, and “Conflict Resolution: 4W Builder”.

“Peer Introduction” is the two people make an introduction of another by the first-person and audience have to look another people not the talking person.

“Values Exercise” We choose the top five values from the 20 value selections. Professor ask two students for their top five. Finally, this two students ask and write down the all groups’ top five values on the board.

The “Conflict Resolution: 4 W Builder” is the exercise to choose four words to describe computers. Students have five minutes to think about it, then a student lead us to get the four words.

I am not a lucky student to lead everybody or show my answer on the board. I am a participator. I told to my partner my name, my dream vacation city is Maldives and save to the money in bank if I am given one million dollar. The four words in my mind was “Fast”, “Machine”, “Information” and ” easy”. Only the ” Information” is same with the class result.

I most like “Peer Introduction”, because I get a long term partner since that. It also a practice to accept another person’s idea and value. It is a conflict. You did not talk about your information, you was showing another’s idea.

These activities are good practice to accept the different idea from yours. Everyone has their owned opinion, if your idea is different form the popular thinking. You need to compromise that. This is a key rule to join a group cooperation.
